Event Notes
Told through the unlikely friendship between Fred and Dom, the play asks what it means to be a boy in a hetero-normative society. Over the course of a school year in a place called Almost-the-City, the two friends question their genders and sexual identities. They confront themselves and their peers at school all the while looking across the river to a place called The City. At the end of the school year, will they decide to cross the river together and begin new lives as their true selves? Or will they turn back to what society tells them to be?
The Law of Gravity explores the themes of gender and sexual identity with intelligence and sensitivity. It is about tolerance and acceptance of others and of yourself.
